App Review: Captain Cal S HD - A Fun Interactive Space Adventure Game

Captain Cal S is a fun interactive space adventure game. But, it is not just another space game; you will learn and practice the /s/ sound while you are playing! Children will practice through sound modeling and there is also a video to teach children the correct way to articulate the /S/ sound.

As Cal travels to Outer Sound Space, you will search for an item on the interactive pages. As this story focuses on the letter /s/ sound, you are always prompted to find and an object that starts with that sound. In addition, after you have found the object you are given an opportunity to practice the sound. You are given five times to practice the sound before you add that object to your trophy case! What a fun way to reinforce the letter sound and reward your child’s hard work!

This app is great way for young children to practice their letter /s/ sound. I really like how this app integrates a fun and interactive game as well as learning a specific skill! It is always a bonus when your children can have fun playing and not even realize they are learning at the same time! My youngest is really enjoying this game. Practicing the letter /s/ sound is really helping out his speech. It makes him stop and think about how he needs to try and say the sound and not rush through it.

This game will also be a great hit with my preschool kids at school, especially the speech kids! It will be a great tool to use with a small group of students. The students will have a chance to work together to practice and help encourage their friends!

Overall

Captain Cal S is a fun interactive space story that your children will enjoy and learn their letter /s/ sound at the same time!! It provides a great start for early speech practice too!
