Premature Baby Journal is an app made by professionals who understand the traumatic roller coaster ride of having a premature baby. The app lets a mother keep track of the essential information and makes these information easier to process in order to track the baby’s progress more effectively.

The Premature Baby Journal is an app that is created by the Australian charity Life’s Little Treasures Foundation for mothers with prematurely born babies. The organization recognizes the physical and emotional stress that having a premature baby has on a mother so they created this app wherein you (the mother) can keep track of all your baby’s medical progress as well as a journal for you to record your feelings.

After making a baby’s profile, the “Stats” tab can let you track your baby’s daily progress with information such as weight, temperature, best oxygen sat., worst oxygen sat., A+Bs, vaccinations. It also allows you to record your child’s milestones, if there are any.

The “Feeding” tab lets you keep track of your baby’s feeding with information such as feeds today, time of last feed, amount of last feed, and feeding method. It also allows you to track your own statistics such as expresses today, last express time, and quantity. It even allows you to set an alarm for your next express.

On the “Progress” tab, the app plots the information that have been entered into line graphs for Feeding, Weight, Temperature, and Expressing to make the progress more concrete and easier to read. As mentioned, having a premature baby is also an emotional roller coaster so the app has the “Journal” tab where you can record how you are feeling, how the other members of the family are feeling, what the doctors said today, what to ask the doctors, etc.

The app allows for multiple baby profiles with pictures. The option to change certain settings such as the measurement (metric or imperial) and temperature (celsius or farenheit) systems makes the app universal. The journal section is a nice touch because it gives mothers a place to put their thoughts down while they are caring for their babies in the hospital. The layout is simple and intuitive so anyone can easily pick this app up.
