Rumpelstiltskin HD - A 3D Children's Interactive Storybook

We are always on the lookout for apps that are fun AND educational; apps that can be played more than once and apps that happen to appeal to more than one age group! My son has Asperger’s Syndrome so I’m also pleased with apps that encourage him to play and interact with his younger siblings.

This is modern, app perspective on an old Grimm Brothers Fairytale with 3D features and wonderful options for 360 degree viewing of the screen. It also happens to be one of my favourite fairytales!

What Lisa Liked

There are so many choices in this app. Lots of interaction for the reader, and the 360 degree option allows you to see the entire room, other objects and otherwise obscured views. You can zoom in so you can see and touch the smallest items. The animation is crisp and smooth and expressive. The music was appropriate and the narration was dramatic without being irritating. It also remains faithful to the original tale which I really liked.

I showed this app to my three children aged 4, 8 and 13 and I was surprised that even the 13 year old enjoyed it and I fully believe it is because this is a very slick app with lots to do and beautiful perspectives and that it is somewhat similar to a animated film as opposed to a static style reading book app.
