Details
Auryn Inc. has outdone themselves with Van Gogh and the Sunflowers! This is a story based on Laurence Anholt’s book. Van Gogh makes friends with a young boy, Camille, and his family. But they are the only ones in town who welcome this stranger. The others make fun of him and chase him out of town.
What Stephanie Morris Liked
The story is great for children in that it teaches them understanding and tolerance of those who are different than themselves. The illustrations are AMAZING!!! The inter-activity of this app is a huge bonus! There is a coloring section where you can color your own page from the book. Also, if you tap on a moving figure, you can see the mechanism behind the animation. If you tap it a second time, you can play a game of putting it back together! I loved this feature although it may be difficult for smaller children. There is also a museum built in to ‘Van Gogh and the Sunflowers’. You can view some of his paintings and pan the gallery as you learn about each magnificent painting.
Overall
Van Gogh and the Sunflowers, by Auryn Inc., is a book that can be enjoyed by all!
